Two years ago I dropped out of college and started painting murals. Were it not for the resources, encouragement, and know-how of these two women, I’m not sure I would have ever felt I could make it as a muralist. @phoebecornog and @roxyprima -thank you. Thank you for the time and energy you put into inspiring young artists, especially women, to ask the hard questions, aim for big numbers, and crush the starving artist stereotype. Thank you @allcapsartgallery for organizing an event where I could meet them! What a day! On to bigger better things, always.

Inspired by a mural my idol, @banyanbridges created. When we moved into this house, I knew something big had to happen on these walls. The potential literally ate away at me for months!… But so did that giant off centered window…and the permanent ladder, the continued wall into the loft, and the rafters…… The question was, how do I fill this wall while maintaining a focal point? I needed an art piece that was just that, an art piece; I didn’t want the wall to feel like a mess of color. And voilà, she was born! Sometimes a little detailing is all you need to bring a room together! I love how she designed the photo wall as her headboard. So creative!

This mural made it onto my stories but never onto my feed! Picture this; I fly out to Oceanside and have the Zundel’s beach house to myself for a week. I spend the days painting and the nights hanging out with the sweetest family and enjoying the views. I get to create something I’m proud of and push myself artistically. It doesn’t get better than that❤️ thank you Zundel family for having me!! By far one of my absolute favorite projects.

I’ll tell you what, I was seeing white foliage everywhere I looked after finishing this one! Totally worth it😍 Side note; this pattern was originally supposed to reach the ceiling but once I reached this height my client and I both thought it looked great with a blank space at the top! I still love it! It’s a little unexpected:)
